Re-Architecture and Deep Learning: Our team of Data Scientists re-architected and rebuilt the existing application. We incorporated a cutting-edge deep learning-based segmentation model, which was deployed on the AWS cloud infrastructure. This model enabled highly precise background removal and the measurement of image segments.

Efficient Data Processing: The new system allowed the client to analyze five unique crop types in under a minute for most images, a significant improvement over their previous setup. This achievement was facilitated by the deep learning model’s ability to process images swiftly and accurately.

The lack of real-time temperature monitoring mechanisms in rotary digesters were resulting in overheads and hampering product quality. The plant was also at constant risk of accidents as there was no means for identifying temperature buildup inside the digestors. The conventional temperature monitoring systems can’t be used in rotary digesters as they were wired and the digestor was in constant rotation. The need was to implement a real-time monitoring system considering all these aspects.

Our team performed an in-depth study of the field application and considered various technology solutions and decided on a wireless temperature monitoring system. The system was designed such that it could be placed inside the digestor and continuously monitor the temperature. The system would also be with the existing PLC system in place in the plant.

The development included the design and architecture of hardware and firmware along with the integration of the client’s PLC over Modbus protocol. Zigbee connectivity was used for wireless communication. The system would measure the temperature every 30 seconds and send to the client’s SCADA system.

• Marked improvement in the product quality as it was easy to control temperature variation due to real-time monitoring.
• Enhanced plant operator safety as the temperature could be controlled as required.
• The SCADA integration made it possible for the operator to monitor the critical temperature parameters from the control room itself.

Our client was a public electrical utility company of a state that carries out the business of generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity for that state.

The utility company encountered multifaceted challenges concerning streetlights that needed to be addressed. Energy consumption was a significant concern, as streetlights often remained switched on unnecessarily even during daylight hours. This resulted in excessive energy usage and wastage. Additionally, the utility company faced recurring complaints from the public due to prolonged delays in replacing or repairing malfunctioning streetlights. These delays affected public safety and caused dissatisfaction among consumers. Moreover, the lack of a reliable monitoring system prevented the utility company from accurately assessing the energy consumption of streetlights, leading to financial losses. The hardware design team developed a street light controller using efficient, cost-effective, and advanced components to ensure a maintenance-free product. The controller was designed as an IoT product, which would communicate its status directly to the SCADA system and allow for remote control.

The team also provided web and mobile-based applications for the remote management of the street light controller, including scheduling the light-on/off times, remotely switching the lights on/off, and viewing real-time status. The system was secured using password protection.
